Additional Information

I served as Interim Organist and Director of Music at St Anne's in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Lincoln, MA from Sept 2015 through January 2016.

When I accepted the post, I spent some time playing the Casavant organ; it was immediately apparent that several issues kept the instrument from making more of an impact in the room.  This had to do with bass 16' Bourdon and 8' Diapason pipes in the Choir division – they had simply been left off when the organ was installed due to financial considerations. The organ pedal stops were anemic and ineffective at best. I recommended that two stops (one each, 16' & 8') be filled out in their lower octaves to give a more grounded foundation and resonance: extremely important in leading strong hymn singing such as one finds at St. Anne's.

We had hoped to have the two sets of pipes installed in the church (no small task) by Labor Day, and William was done well before this date; it was nothing short of a miracle. The effectiveness of these pipes immediately made a huge impact in the bass character of the pedal division, and seamlessly blended to the existing pipework. I can't imagine how anyone could have done a more timely and brilliantly-executed job of this sort.

All William's work was and is first rate. He amazes me with his knowledge of organ building, and is and accomplished organist himself. It was nothing short of a miracle that he achieved this project in such a short time. I would recommend him unqualifiedly for any organ tuning or work, and would be happy to speak with anyone further about his fine qualities and skills in this sophisticated art.

We've been using William for the past several years to tune and maintain our continuo organ. We frequently find ourselves to be in difficult situations and need to deal with issues such as temperature and humidity fluctuations, extreme time constraints, unusual temperaments, and other problems that are frequently coming up. William has always handled everything we throw at him with great professionalism; he is always reliable, accurate, and extremely conscientious in all aspects of the tuning and care of our instrument, and I can wholeheartedly recommend him.
